Meet Tarsha

image00009.jpeg

Hi! I am Tarsha Gibbons, the founder of Gibbons Family Fitness. I am a wife, mom, entrepreneur, health and wellness expert and fitness professional. My understanding of fitness came when my dad gifted me a membership to Bally‘s Gym for my 18th birthday. At that time, I was in college and overweight (I am partial to a honey bun).

I started going to the gym and it was terrible at first but I kept at it. Working out made me feel empowered and I was amazed at the results. It quickly became a part of my weekly routine.

After a 12-year career in law enforcement, I was blessed to have my son and that is when everything changed. I decided to quit my job and honestly, I had no clue where I was headed next. But I trusted that God would help me. I had a friend who owned a wellness company that asked me to help her out. I worked with her for about three years teaching children physical fitness, nutrition, and healthy cooking.

This experience is how Gibbons Family Fitness was founded. I realized the enormous impact health and wellness had on people and I knew I could help. I hired a team and we went to work. We have created customized health and wellness programs throughout NYC and Westchester County for community outreach organizations, schools, faith-based organizations, government agencies, corporations and individuals. We are a Minority Woman Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) with NYC and NYS which has given us the opportunity to do over $1,000,000 in contracts.

Gibbons Family Fitness has been touching so many lives it still amazes me and we are just getting started. We believe a healthy lifestyle is attainable for everyone through movement, education and opportunity.

Thank you for choosing Gibbons Family Fitness to help you on the journey.

"No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening-- It's painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. "
